felting
I have been busily finishing off some felting gifts, some bookmarks for the 10 day gift exchange at the Byhandartist group. If you are in the exchange, sorry to spoil opening it for you but I am not sure if anyone of them are following my blog anyways. The other photo of the acorns is going to be ongoing for a few more days but thought I would share the photo with you anyways. I have many more to make. I needle felted the balls but they could easily be made by using water and soap to make the little lovelies too. My friend Gail showed me how to do this and her wonderful husband collected the tops and dremeled the holes too for us. That made it so much easier to thread through the hanger. Fun little Christmas project that is for sure. Thanks for looking ! J

4"X4" quiltie swap November
Here is my swap that I am sending to Daphne for the swap this month. Used prefelt, nuno felting scraps, ribbon pieces, embroidery floss and of course needle felting. Hope she likes it? J
wet felting
Yikes it is november!! Almost the end too? What? Oh well here I go with a post or maybe even two. My sister wanted to see what I have been doing this summer. My friend Gail and I have been playing with wet felting using a resist . Fun to do and interesting shapes can happen depending on the resist used and the amount of time you work on it and even the type of wool you use too. Anyways here is a photo of some of the things I made. J

Needle Felting
Anyways here are a couple of photos of birthday presents I have made . One is a trivet for my boss/friend Kelly (chicken is using a cookie cutter and felting the roving in it) and the other is a felted bowl for my sweet niece Quinn. I crocheted the bases first with a roving wool from Bernat (I think) then needle felted the wool roving into the base till I liked it.
They were pleased with their handmade gifts so that is important right? I am going to go to a Stitch and Bitch get together today at our local wool shop and check it out. I would like to find some other felters I can play with here in town. I do have a class booked the end of March using wet felting to make a vessel, like a bowl or a vase. So looking forward to that!
Sure feels like spring here in the valley hope you are getting better weather too. Winter 2014 has been a rough one for many of you. Take care and I will try to post more often the remainder of the year.

miniatures, doll bashing
I bashed these dolls many years ago but thought I would share them with those of you who follow me. My Miniature club had a challenge a few years ago of making a parade to display at our show and sale that year. My float was for the wineries that are abundant in the valley and bashed a Sailor Moon doll to look like Lucy Stomping grapes! Are you old enough to remember that episode ? And then used an Arnold doll and made him a new face and viola.... a clown that looks like the clown in " It" ( by Stephen King). I love them both and need to find an interesting way to display them. Thanks for stopping by for a look and apologies that the photo is not that clear. Should get a new camera maybe? ; )

12 days of christmas started
Long time between posts again, lovely hot summer and holidays and laziness are my excuses. I did get some felting done for my 12 days of Christmas exchange with Byhand Artist Group (I am Day 6) and a couple of other felted items started but not near finished. It is a gloomy Friday and I hope to work on something today and drink some hot chocolate and do some Netflix watching maybe too. It feels like it is really Fall today
Thanks for stopping by !!
